The quirkiest way to explore Madeira So it turns out a tuktuk is surprisingly powerful even with a full complement of 3 adult passengers in the back!John was informative and patient throughout - he made regular stops throughout at fantastic viewpoints, gave us insight into the history of the island, the local agriculture, allowed us to explore at our own pace, and gave us perfect recommendations for drinks - Poncha, Nikita, and the best place to try Madeiran wine in central Funchal (D'Oliveiras).

Bargain Private Tour This was a great 3 hours tour. We picked up our prebooked Tuk tuk outside the C7 museum, and it was bang on time. Our driver introduced himself, and González was not the speedy one you here of in the song. We set off at a slow pace through the streets of Funchal and upwards towards the Valley of the Nuns. We were given a history lesson and shown the sights as we made our way to the first stop for photos. Onwards, we climbed into the clouds and cooler weather to the viewpoint overlooking the enclosed valley. What a view, looking down hundreds of feet into the valley below surrounded by mountain ridges. As we made our way down to the village on the only access road, it started to rain, but no worries, our driver had pulled over the canvas roof. In the village was the original Nuns house (now a museum) and church. As the rain continued, we made our way back up the mountain and back to Funchal and back to the sunshine. I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour with Tukxi, and it was worth every penny. Excellent value for money at £28 for the 2 passengers for what was a 3 hour private tour.

Best way to see Funchal Our tuk tuk tour with Nidia (?) was so entertaining! She has lots of stories and good advice about how to spend limited time in Funchal. The views from the different areas are incredible, and traveling the steep winding streets of Funchal by tuk tuk is the best way - and the most fun way - to go. Thanks for a great day!

Save your legs! Fun and enjoyable tour. Great way to get your bearings of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and flexible when we asked to be dropped off at Reid's hotel for cocktails. Thoroughly recommend!

Fun Way to Experience Funchal, Madeira My husband and I had four, wonderful, hours while in the port of Funchal for the day. Russ (Rosatto), our Tukxi driver was very informative. He asked us first what we were interested in and then did a great job accommodating us. He took us through the waterfront part of town and up into the mountains. My husband is 6'3 tall and he found the ride comfortable. A blanket was offered if we got cold. A tuktuk is a safe and refreshing form of transportation. Put it on your bucket list. The only issue we had was the agreed upon meeting place. I had to call them after waiting fifteen minutes, but Russ made up for the time lost.

Great experience This was a fabulous way to get to know what was where having only arrived the day before to the island. We spent 6 hours with our local born driver Wilson who was a font of all knowledge. We finished the day knowing exactly what & where we were going to explore for the rest of our week.
